Hello! My name is Leslie, I am the sole creator and owner of Peony's and Poppy's. I want to welcome you to my business page. My crafting journey started about 4 years ago. I saw a craft I liked, and decided to make it for myself, and I fell in love with the art. I decided to open up an Etsy shop, which I have different crafts, that I will continue to create. The name of my small business has come from the heart; it just isn't a name of a business. After tossing a few names around, I came up with Peony's and Poppy's, which means a lot to me. This shop was named after something my mom loved, Peony's. She often talked about the Peony's that grew around the farmhouse she lived in as a little girl, that her grandpap planted. Poppy's was named for my grandpap, who served in WWII, and he would always have a poppy in his ball cap to remember the ones we lost.
My mom passed away a year ago and I looked for a piece that I could carry her ashes in and keep it with me always. The pieces that I liked were priced way too much for me. So, when the opportunity was presented to me about learning the skill of making memorial jewelry, I was so excited to start this new adventure. I learned the art of creating memorial jewelry about 9 months ago, from a dear friend, Aimee, who creates Equine Jewelry, her website is www.equinekeepsakes.com.
My first piece was created for me, with my mom's ashes and hair (presented on this page), it is my most prized possession.
I want to be able to create a Cherished Token of Love for you. Each piece that I have created to this point, is very dear to me. I treat all pieces as if I am creating it for myself, with love and respect. I would be honored if you allowed me to create a piece for you.
